The Fall Grand Prix will consist of 4 tournaments. The rounds of each tournament will be continuous. In sections K – 1, K – 3, K – 5, rounds 1 – 3 will happen in September, rounds 4 – 6 will occur in October and 7 – 9 in November, and 10 – 12 and Awards Ceremony in December. In the K – 12 open: rounds 1 - 2 in September, rounds 3 - 4 in October, rounds 5 – 6 in November, and 7 – 8 and Awards Ceremony in December.

The tournament fee will be $15 for each tournament or $50 for all 4. Entry fee must be included along with the properly filled out registration form. This entry form must be received by the Friday before any of the specific tournaments. Any entries received afterwards or on site will be considered late and a $5 late fee will be assessed. If you plan to pay for all four days, you can save time by registering securely online at http://fallgrandprix2009.eventbrite.com by 5pm on September 25. There will be no extra charge online.

Additional Information
Ribbons will be awarded to all participants at each tournament. In sections K – 1
K – 3 K – 5 any student scoring 2 2 ½ 3 points at any single tournament will receive a medal. In the K – 12 open section, any score of 1 ½ 2 points will receive a medal. At the end of the December tournament, any players attending all 4 tournaments will be given a participation trophy.
Grand Prix scores will be tallied at the end of all four tournaments. The total points for an individual will consist of the total 12 round score in K – 1
K – 3 K – 5 and a total 8 round score from K – 12. The top 3 scoring individuals in each section will be awarded a Grand Prix trophy.
Grand Prix trophies will also be awarded to the Top 2 scoring teams in each section. A team score will consist of the 3 top scoring boards from each participating team. Any number of players may constitute a team but only the top 3 individuals from that team and in that particular section will count towards the team Grand Prix total.
Any players arriving late (after 1:15pm) without proper notification may be disqualified from the first round but may play in any subsequent rounds. If requested in advance, players may miss one of the grand prix days and receive bye points (0.5 points for K-12 and 1 point for other sections).
All participants must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult member of their school or chess club.
No student is to be dropped off. Parents and coaches will be responsible for the actions of their students at all times. Good sportsmanship and proper behavior is expected at all times both during and between rounds.
