Led by George Pyne, the Alachua County Scholastic Chess Association (ACSCA) has promoted chess for the children of Gainesville for many years. Major events each year include the ACSCA Grand Prix, Westside Park chess on Sunday afternoons and the yearly Chess Challenge.
