2012 MLK CHESS WORK OUT DAY

WHERE: Logic Lab

WHO: Players from ages 5-12. Parents are welcome to stay.

COST: The cost is $40.00/player for the 9am-4pm timeframe.

ACTIVITIES: There will be small group lessons, chess problems, tournament games, etc.

LUNCH: Please bring a sack lunch. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

BEFORE AND AFTER CHILD CARE:

We will provide child care beginning at 8:00 AM (additional $5) and aftercare until 5:00 PM (additional $5).

Led and taught students at several school chess clubs in Bloomington/Normal, IL from October 1999-May 2011

Coached several teams that won the Illinois Scholastic State Championship

Tutored chess students one on one the past 12 years

USCF Current Rating of 1716

Chairperson of the Bloomington/Normal Area Scholastic Chess organization, 2002-May 2011

Organizer for a chess day camp for 9 years.

Illinois Math and Science Academy Teacher Recognition, 2010

Awarded Chess Coach, K-5 State Chess Championship, 2003

A little about Aaron Barton:

Coached at several elementary schools in Bloomington/Normal, IL for the past 4 years

Highly demanded chess tutor in the Bloomington/Normal, IL area

USCF Current Rating of 1528, but high school chess tournaments were not USCF rated

Participant of several Illinois Scholastic State Championships

Graduate of Illinois State University
